Year 6 Induction Days

July 7, 2017 12:18 pm

On Wednesday the 5th and Thursday the 6th of July, Year 6 students came to experience two wonderful days of fun and excitement at Ellis Guilford.

The Year 6s came to see what it will be like in secondary school so they can be ready for all the challenges that will face them at the start of September. They also came to find out what opportunities they will have at Ellis Guilford. During their two days at Ellis Guilford, they had lessons in all the main subjects. This will help them find out which teachers and students they will be spending time with in class when they start school in September.

Students also spent time with each other doing team building exercises so that when they come in September it will be easier for them to work together as a team.

We asked Year 6 students what they thought of their time at Ellis Guilford. Popular highlights were break times and the opportunity to meet new people. Jack said,  ‘My favourite part about Ellis Guilford was break and my favourite subject was science.’ Siara and Renae agreed about the science lesson and Brandon added ‘my favourite subject was doing football in P.E because I am really good at it.” Artjom said ‘My favourite part about Ellis Guilford was the subjects and the teachers and my favourite subject was ICT.’

When asked, Mrs Kirkham said she thought the Year 6s were ‘phenomenal!’

On behalf of all Ellis Guilford, we would like to say thank you to all the Year 6s who participated in the two days and who have worked hard and also done their best. The teachers and staff are really looking forward to seeing you again in September.
