Year 8 students from Ellis Guilford took part in a day of challenging team activities involving science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and were awarded first prize!
Nathan, Daniel and their team participated in the Nottinghamshire Science and Technology Challenge Day organised by MCS Projects Ltd. The event was held at Vision Studio School, Mansfield and involved Year 8 and 9 pupils from schools across Nottinghamshire, who all took part in a series of challenging STEM activities.
Nathan and Daniel worked in a team with students from another school to complete four tasks; creating an efit picture using the most up to date technology, diagnosing various medical conditions, programming a robot to carry out various tasks and building a vehicle to race.
Mr Gadsbey, who accompanied the boys on the trip said, “The students were engaged in science activities all day, and were ecstatic that their hard work paid off to come first.”
The boys hope to take part in the next stage in Manchester. Their award was presented by The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Nottingham.
