Sport Relief 2018March 12, 2018 2:31 pm
On Friday 23rd March, we are inviting staff and students to take part in Sport Relief by wearing something sporty instead of their Uniform.
Students can wear non-uniform if they make a donation of £1. The non-uniform should include a sports item of clothing which needs to be more than just trainers, but please no red hair or face paints. Clothing worn on the day needs to be appropriate for school and students are expected to continue demonstrating that they are following the uniform expectations in the time leading up to and after the non-uniform day.
If your child does not wish to take part they must wear full uniform. Additionally, if a student has PE on this day then they must still bring the full Ellis Guilford PE kit to access the lesson.
The School Council has worked on planning the day and has activities taking place throughout the week. The School Council are looking to raise £1,500 as their initial target. The money we raise will help people living really tough lives in the UK and across Africa. For example, £2.50 could buy a mosquito net to protect a family in Africa. In the UK, £5 could pay for an isolated elderly person with dementia to have dinner at their local support group.
We will also be using Sport Relief as a learning opportunity to help our pupils explore the issues facing young children across the world, and how the money we raise can help.
We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping Ellis Guilford raise lots of money for a good cause.
