We are celebrating the success of our year 11 students in their GCSE exams this year. We had some excellent individual results which reflected the hard work of students and staff during the year. The story of one of our students, Bianka Bodzar, was featured in the Nottingham Evening Post. Bianka arrived at Ellis Guilford at the start of year 11 with limited English. She studied a reduced number of subject to try and secure the best possible grades. She was incredibly hard working and spent a huge amount of time working at home; her ambition is to be a doctor. Despite the challenges of language and having to complete two years’ work in a year, Bianka achieved a fabulous set of results, securing 1A* 2As and 3B grades. She is going to 6th form college next year to study for her A levels.
Other high achieving students were Emma Smilie who achieved 2 A*, 8 As and a B grade, despite being nervous about her results and wondering if she should have done more preparation. Adam Herrett achieved A*, 7 As and 3 Bs and Noor Hashmi achieved A*, 7 As and 2 Cs. Both are looking to move onto college to do A levels. Enum Bilal achieved Distinction *, 5 As and 5 Bs, Jordan Thomas achieved 6 As and 4 Bs. Liam Bell was very pleased with his results as this meant that he moves closer to achieving his ambition of being a pilot. Whilst three levels of progress is the expectation, Liam made an incredible four levels of progress in seven subjects.
We wish all of our students every success in the future. Well done!
